Workshop details

This workshop is suitable for anyone whose role (voluntary or paid) may involve some fundraising, and especially those who have little or no experience in this area

Learning Outcomes

During this workshop you will examine

· The current funding environment.

· How to find funders interested in your groups work

· The common fundraising pitfalls and how to avoid them.

· How to get started on fundraising for a project.

· What funders like/don’t like.

· How to provide evidence of the importance of your work.

· How to avoid common mistakes.

·The importance of monitoring and of exit strategies.

Trainer Lisa Bone: Lisa has led training and mentoring sessions on a wide range of topics.  Prior to SDVS, she worked for a social enterprise focussing on new business development and income generation.  She has wide ranging experience in both the not-for-profit and private sector and a background in research, marketing, new business development, consultancy and mentoring.
